Establishment of the College: 2013

Mata Sundri University Girls College, Mansa was established in the year 2013. Students from economically weak families in remote areas and villages around Mansa get a chance to fulfill their dreams. The establishment of the college provides an opportunity for students to acquire higher education. The college has a good building with the efforts of Punjabi University, Patiala, Government of Punjab and University Grants Commission. In the current session, around 1600 students are pursuing higher education in the college. In this college B.A., B.Com, B.Sc. (Non-Medical, Medical, Home Science in Human Development), B.C.A., P.G.D.C.A., M.Sc (IT), M.Com, M.A. Punjabi, M.A. English and Diploma in Geriatric Care (Old Core Ad Nutrition) courses are running.

ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਤੱਰਕੀ ਲਈ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਸ਼ਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਚੰਗੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪੜ੍ਹੇ ਲਿਖੇ ਹੋਣ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਰਤੀ ਲਈ ਯੁਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਗਰਾਂਟਸ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ, ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਸਦਕਾਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਉੱਚ-ਵਿਦਿਆ ਪਖੋਂ ਪੱਛਵੇ ਸਰਹੱਦੀ ਜ਼ਿਲਿਆਂ, ਆਰਥਿਕ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਪੱਛਵੇ ਵਰਗਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਰ-ਦੁਰਾਡੇ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ, ਜਿਥੇ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਉੱਚ-ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਪਾਈ ਸੀ, ਉੱਥੇ ਸੰਨ 2011 ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਰੋਕਤ ਤਰਜੀਹੀ ਅਧਾਰਾਂ 'ਤੇ ੩੭੪ ਕਾਂਸਟੀਚੂਐਂਟ ਕਾਲਿਜ ਖੋਲ੍ਹੇ ਗਏ। ਇਸੇ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਅਧੀਨ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਕਾਲਿਜਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੁਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਅਧੀਨ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਸੁੰਦਰੀ ਯੁਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਗਰਲਜ਼ ਕਾਲਜ, ਮਾਨਸਾ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਆਰੰਭ 2013 ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਲਵੇ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ, ਜਿਥੇ ਕੁੜੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਉੱਚ-ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਅਜੇ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਫ਼ਨਾ ਹੀ ਸੀ, ਖਲ੍ਹਿਆ ਗਿਆ।

ਰਾਜ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੁਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੀ ਰਾਹਨੁਮਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਸੰਨ 2013 ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਏ ਮਾਤਾ ਸੁੰਦਰੀ ਯੁਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਗਰਲਜ਼ ਕਾਲਜ, ਮਾਨਸਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਲੱਗਭਗ 1200 ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੋਣਹਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਤੱਰਕੀ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਗੁਜ਼ਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਪਖੋਂ ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਇਹ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਹਿਊਮੈਨਿਟਿਜ਼(ਆਰਟਸ), ਕਾਮਰਸ, ਬੀ.ਐੱਸਸੀਜ਼(ਨਾਨ-ਮੈਡੀਕਲ, ਹੋਮ-ਸਾਇੰਸ, ਹਿਊਮਨ-ਡਿਵੈਲਪਮੈਂਟ), ਬੀਸੀਏ ਆਦਿ ਡਿਗਰੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਉੱਚ-ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਚਾਨਣ-ਮੁਨਾਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਆਸ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਬੱਚੀਆਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼, ਰਾਜ, ਮਾਂ-ਬਾਪ, ਇਲਾਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਰੁਸ਼ਨਾਉਣਗੀਆਂ

Library

The college has an excellent library with around 4000 books of various disciplines in an open, airy and unique building. It has been kept completely up-to-date by including books in various languages published from time to time. Students have the facility to read all major newspapers and magazines in Punjabi, Hindi and English in the library's open study room.

PTA

Parents of every student of the college will be members of this organization. Every year the General Body shall meet at the beginning of the academic session itself to elect its Executive Committee. The term of the Executive Committee will be for 1 year.

Youth welfare Wing

The purpose of this club is to identify the hidden artistic talent in the students and provide suitable opportunities for its proper development. For this purpose, students are encouraged to participate in college-level and inter-college or university-level competitions in various genres of talent competitions, song, poetry, mono-acting, elocution, debate, skit, drama, gidha, bhangra, image-art and folk-art. Trips to various places of religious and social importance, tour programs to remote scenic hilly places, etc. are part of the activities of this club which aims to acquaint the students with the lifestyle, language and culture of different regions of their country.

NSS

The NSS, a voluntary association of young people, aims to develop students’ personalities through social service. The college is proud to have two units of NSS wing. The camps are regularly organized in the college and in the vicinity of the college to sensitize students on various issues of social, political, and economic importance. For the all-round development of the volunteers every year an educational tour is also conducted.

Sports

The teams of this college continue to participate in various sports competitions and their achievements in these competitions have been excellent. College teachers are trying hard to build a sports culture in the college by preparing different teams of students in sports. College colors, roll of honor, etc. are given by the college to the students who have achieved well in sports at the university, state level and national level.

Scholarships Cell

The college has set up a scholarship cell for disbursing scholarships under the central and state scholarship schemes for students. Not limited to government schemes only, funds are collected and contributed by college principals and faculty to provide fee concessions and scholarships to deserving but economically weaker students.

Red Ribbon Club

This club aims to sensitize the students to avoid physical and mental diseases, the main cause of which is neglect. It plays an important role in the cognitive growth of students. Seminars, lectures, petting competitions and awareness rallies are organized by this club.

Guidance & Counselling Cell

Guidance & Counselling Cell was established in the college to provide need-based General and Career counselling to the students.
